ERASMUS+ “Advancing University Financial Management Practices in Southeast Asia" (ADVANSE)

SUMMARY

European Union (EU) in October 2015 approved € 90,589 grant for a research project under the ERASMUS+ program. The general aim of the project, entitled ERASMUS+ “Advancing University Financial Management Practices in Southeast Asia" (ADVANSE) is to promote the modernization of financial management (FM) practices and income diversification strategies in Higher Education institutions (HEIs) at regional level, with a view to sustainably strengthen the Higher Education systems and maximize the social return on investment in Higher Education. In specific, this research project focuses on enhancing human, organizational and technical capacities of partner countries HEIs to increase efficiency in FM and income diversification while promoting accountability and transparency through systematization and promotion of good practice. UiTM was selected as one of the participating universities of this 3-year project (October 15, 2015 - October 14, 2018) which was represented by Zaini Abdullah (Dr.) as the project leader, and Norlida Jaafar (Dr.), Norliza Che Yahya (Dr.), Mohd Rahim Khamis (Dr.) and En. Poazi Rosdi as members. The European partners of this project consist of University of Applied Science, Austria (FH JOANNEUM - FHJ) as Project Leader or Coordinator, University of Alicante,Spain and Universitaet Des Saarland, German. Besides UiTM, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia, University of Sumatera Utara, Universiti Gadja Mada, Naresuan University, Kasertsart University were also selected to be the Southeast Asia Partners of this project.
